Received its independence from England on September 21, 1981. A few reality shows have filmed here, two that I know of are Temptation Island and Survivor (I or II, I can't remember) I don't watch those shows, but a friend of mine vacationed there and informed me.

This was a snap. Settled by Brits and Scots in 1638, it is the only country in this region where the official language is English. One of their original exports was 'logwood' (Haematoxylum campechianum) - used to produce a fixative for woolen clothing dyes. Throughout this country's history, their neighbor to the west has claimed ownership of all or part of the territory - the western border is still in dispute. This claim is occasionally reflected in maps showing this country as the twenty-third department of its covetous neighbor. Border disputes notwithstanding, a combination of great climate, fantastic flora and fauna, ancient ruins, fabulous waters for boating, fishing and diving makes this an excellent choice for vacation!
