H/T Watts Up With That?
The National Post today posted the following article: Thirty years of warmer temperatures go poof
Other than the graph above here are a few highlights from the article:
“Dr. Hackbart also pointed out that periods of solar inactivity known as "solar minimums" magnify cold spells on his continent. So, given that August was the first month since 1913 in which no sunspot activity was recorded -- none -- and during which solar winds were at a 50-year low, he was not surprised that Brazilians were suffering (for them) a brutal cold snap. "This is no
coincidence," he said as he scoffed at the notion that manmade carbon emissions had more impact than the sun and oceans on global climate.”
And
"An analytical chemist who works in spectroscopy and atmospheric sensing, Michael J. Myers of Hilton Head, S. C., declared, "Man-made global warming is junk science," explaining that worldwide manmade CO2 emission each year "equals about 0.0168% of the atmosphere's CO2 concentration ... This results in a 0.00064% increase in the absorption of the sun's radiation. This is an insignificantly small number.""
And
“For nearly 30 years, Professor Christy has been in charge of NASA's eight weather satellites that take more than 300,000 temperature readings daily around the globe. In a paper co-written with Dr. Douglass, he concludes that while manmade emissions may be having a slight impact, "variations in global temperatures since 1978 ... cannot be attributed to carbon dioxide."”
Go figure.
It seems that all the time and energy we have spent over the last 3 decades to clean the air has actually caused global warming!!
Cleaner skies explain surprise rate of warming
While I am not entirely surprised I would like to know what those greenhouse gas nazi’s think about this study? Do you think that they may assume that this is just another conspiracy of the “Bush/Cheney Big Oil Machine” that conceived this study and all the info has been tainted by Cheney holding a gun to the head of the scientists reminding them that he “shot his friend…imagine what I could do to you!”
I mean lets be honest here…most of these people think that Hilary has sabotaged the Obama campaign…I’m quite sure they think that this is a conspiracy as well.
This is simply a must read! For those of you who do not know; John Coleman was the founder of the Weather Channel.
Global Warming and the Price of a Gallon of Gas
Here are a few excerpts:
Hello Al Gore; Hello UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Your science is flawed; your hypothesis is wrong; your data is manipulated. And, may I add, your scare tactics are deplorable. The Earth does not have a fever. Carbon dioxide does not cause significant global warming.
Here is the deal about CO2, carbon dioxide. It is a natural component of our atmosphere. It has been there since time began. It is absorbed and emitted by the oceans. It is used by every living plant to trigger photosynthesis. Nothing would be green without it. And we humans; we create it. Every time we breathe out, we emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is not a pollutant. It is not smog. It is a naturally occurring invisible gas.
On May 20th, a list of the names of over thirty-one thousand scientists who refute global warming was released. Thirty-one thousand of which 9,000 are Ph.ds. Think about that. Thirty-one thousand. That dwarfs the supposed 2,500 scientists on the UN panel. In the past year, five hundred of scientists have issued public statements challenging global warming. A few more join the chorus every week. There are about 100 defectors from the UN IPCC.
What more can be said!
I hope Al Gore is hanging his head
I am ashamed to admit that I had never heard of Irena Sendler, whose obituary appeared in this morning’s paper. Hers is an awesomely humbling story, even by the standards of her heroic generation.
Irena Sendler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
A Polish Catholic, she spirited some 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto, displaying casual and extraordinary courage. She kept a list of the children she had saved, hoping one day to reunite them with their parents – although, in the event, almost all lost their families in Treblinka. In 1943, she was arrested by the Gestapo and tortured. Her legs and feet were broken, but she refused to give up her list. She was sentenced to death, but rescued, whereupon – almost unbelievably – she went back to work.
Here, though, is the sentence that leapt off the page at me: “Last year she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, eventually won by Al Gore.” Al Gore! I mean, nothing against the old lardbutt – it’s nice to see ex-politicians doing something they believe in rather than giving themselves over wholly to the getting of personal wealth – but making a film is not the same thing as donning a yellow star and smuggling babies past enemy soldiers.
Our generation, as Danny Kruger put it in the best tract of 2007, is moralistic rather than moral. We are better at holding opinions about what governments or multi-nationals should do than we are at doing the right thing by our neighbours. Having formed our opinions, we become self-righteous in a way that the Irena Sendlers of the world couldn’t understand.
“We who were rescuing children are not some kind of heroes”, she said towards the end of her life. “That term irritates me greatly. The opposite is true – I continue to have qualms of conscience that I did so little. I could have done more. This regret will follow me to my death.” There is a haunting sincerity to that statement. You can’t imagine Al Gore saying any such thing, can you?

“The key to stemming the tide of climate change is to make personal changes that will help reduce global warming. So it's a bit of a mystery why Gore continues to eat animals and ignores the overwhelming evidence that eating meat is the number one cause of global warming.”
“The following are a few inconvenient truths that the former V.P. ignores:
- A major United Nations study determined that the meat industry generates 40 percent more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, SUVs, ships, and planes in the world combined.
- Researchers at the University of Chicago concluded that going vegan is 50 percent more effective in combating the climate crisis than switching to a hybrid car.
- The official handbook of the Live Earth concerts that Gore helped organize acknowledges that not eating meat is "the single most effective thing" you can do to reduce your climate change impact (emphasis in original).”
Well check this out…I found this photo on Watts Up With That?
Mount Kilamanjaro - Tanzania, Africa - still snowy. Photo by Neil Modie, January 2008
But the better image is the one Kate put together over at Small Dead Animals (don’t ask me I just read the blogs I’m not the one naming them!!)
Let me get this straight; the UN and enviro-nazis like Algore, have spent the last decade telling us that we need to move fast on the ‘global warming’ crisis and have pushed the world into using new fuels without ever considering the consequences. While skeptics in the scientific community and people like you and me have been saying lets take this slow and make sure the data is accurate before we do something that will make matters worse.
Well now we get this story from the UN which in part says that the quick transition over to biofuels has increased real food prices around the world and in order to meet the demand for the new fuel natural sources that reduce CO2 (forests) are being destroyed to plant crops.
Funny…I thought these people said they knew what they were doing.
This morning when I turned on the TV they were talking about the big tree in Rockefeller Center and as I gazed upon the huge Christmas tree I wondered…what do the Nobel Prize winners (Algore and the IPCC) think about NBC cutting down a huge tree that was scrubbing evil CO2 from the atmosphere?
Then I read this post by Caledonia Unplugged: NBC's "green" agenda continues to be a joke!
You just have to love it when we all think alike!!!!
I was surprised to find most of my fellow bloggers not having fun with Algore’s winning of the Noble “Peace” Prize. AP: Al Gore, UN panel share Nobel for Peace
The only blog’s I found that were talking about Algore were An ‘Ol Broad’s Ramblings and the Daily Dollop. Here is what they had to say:
From the Daily Dollop: The Ten Commandments of Climate Change
And from An ‘Ol Broad’s Ramblings: Proof!
My thoughts are this...how whacked out was the committee when they made that decision. Why didn’t they give the award to JK Rowling? At least the books she writes are somewhat more believable than the drivel and unscientific material that Algore puts out.
The committee actually chose the one person (and committee) that has done the LEAST for humanity!!
Thích Quang Đo has done many things to help people and to warrant the Peace Prize. Just look at his bio: Thích Quang Đo
The frontrunner for the Peace Prize (excluding Algore) was Sheila Watt-Cloutier who is an Canadian Inuit Activist. She too has done many things to actually impact people. Her bio is here: Sheila Watt-Cloutier
So what exactly has Algore and IPCC Actully done?
- They have made a natural event look like it is the doomsday scenario.
- Algore has made millions by selling phony carbon credits to himself.
- But in the end they have done nothing but talk.

Today a Reuter’s story titled Kilimanjaro's shrinking snow not sign of warming has scientists saying “see we told you so!”
Unlike Algore, scientists prefer to deal in facts. Algore used stunning (yes, I saw the film and I will admit that the cinematography was fantastic!) cinematography to perpetrate a lie! He stated that the snow of Kilimanjaro was eroding due to global warming when in fact there was scientific proof that it was not.
Slowly the media will catch up to the fact that while the earth may be warming to say that the cause is human-made is to be quite arrogant!
The Assault on Reason by Al Gore
Now I’m not the biggest Al Gore fan in the world and even in this excerpt I found a few things a little out of whack but overall I’d have to say…I’ll probably read this one.
Excerpts:
In practice, what television's dominance has come to mean is that the inherent value of political propositions put forward by candidates is now largely irrelevant compared with the image-based ad campaigns they use to shape the perceptions of voters. The high cost of these commercials has radically increased the role of money in politics—and the influence of those who contribute it. That is why campaign finance reform, however well drafted, often misses the main point: so long as the dominant means of engaging in political dialogue is through purchasing expensive television advertising, money will continue in one way or another to dominate American politics. And as a result, ideas will continue to play a diminished role. That is also why the House and Senate campaign committees in both parties now search for candidates who are multimillionaires and can buy the ads with their own personal resources.
As a result, our democracy is in danger of being hollowed out. In order to reclaim our birthright, we Americans must resolve to repair the systemic decay of the public forum. We must create new ways to engage in a genuine and not manipulative conversation about our future. We must stop tolerating the rejection and distortion of science. We must insist on an end to the cynical use of pseudo-studies known to be false for the purpose of intentionally clouding the public's ability to discern the truth. Americans in both parties should insist on the re-establishment of respect for the rule of reason.
I found it funny that Algore would talk about the distortion of science since he has become the number one distorter of science in the world…he replaced those cold fusion guys right about the time he won an Oscar for “An Inconvenient Truth”…but he does make a great point. Carl Sagan warned about the road we were heading down pointing out that we are focused more on pseudo-science instead of science.
The words Al Gore writes here are true but my question is does he truly believe them or is this just another way to manipulate society into seeing his way?
